luxury & comfort
The owners, an art advisor and interior designer, have taken great care in creating a unique interior of great style in a restoration of the highest quality. Original features have been retained with some beamed ceilings, exposed Cotswold stone walls and old fireplaces.
The idyllic bedroom has a beautiful old French brass bed that was bought from an Irish mansion near Tipperary! It was brought over and carefully restored to retain the original - romantically themed - hand-painted motifs. We added an ultra comfortable Caspar mattress with crisp white linen. The second bedroom (extra charge) has a John Lewis bed and luxury Eve mattress.
In the lounge there is a velvet sofa, antique Persian rug, 18th century dining table and chairs, interesting antiques, fine art and classic books. Lighting is discrete whilst a log stove provides a delightful atmosphere.
In a nook in the same room an early 19th century oak dining table has original elm wheelback chairs to match and a vintage style industrial light. The original ‘wonky’ stone, mullioned windows overlook Roman Cricklade Street (there may be some occasional light street noise in the living room).
The kitchen is new, fully fitted with usual facilities plus extras like a Nespresso machine and frother, Nutribullet, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The bathroom features loads of hot water, deep-pile towels and quality toiletries.
The latest smart TV is located in the living room together with a bluray DVD player and lots of varied films. There is unlimited free wi-fi and a wide choice of music with digital radio, stereo bluetooth speakers and a CD player.
Outside a large private and sunny courtyard garden is available for the sole use of Cotswold Place.
